Thornwell

Thornwell’s foster care program offers standard (non-therapeutic) foster care licensing for those individuals and families who would like to foster children and youth ages 0-21. Thornwell’s dedicated Family Specialists are passionate about licensing, preparing, and supporting families as they welcome children and youth into their homes. Our team uses Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) model in coaching foster families to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced trauma. In addition, in certain instances, Thornwell is able to provide on-campus housing for families willing to foster large or multiple sibling groups of all ages.
The training hours required to become licensed are a total of 24-26 hours completed prior to licensing and are completed online. 15 training hours per year are required to maintain the foster home license beyond the initial 2-year licensing period.
