Works with any individual or family who has a desire to serve children.
Growing Home SE serves the entire state. GHSE licenses all homes as therapeutic, but serves/places children for families who choose to foster non-therapeutic children. If the situation arises, families may foster siblings in which one or more may be non-therapeutic and/or one or more may be therapeutic.
All GHSE families must complete 32 initial hours of training prior to becoming licensed. In addition, there are other training classes that must be completed pre-licensure above and beyond the 32 hours required for therapeutic foster home licensing. GHSE will advise once a family is in process.
Once licensed, GHSE homes must complete 16 hours of training per year within the 2-year licensing period in order to maintain foster home license. These training hours are at the discretion of GHSE, both for topic and scheduling. GHSE requires daily documentation for both TFC and non-TFC children placed in the home. This documentation is input daily online.
